Switch to Octopus is an independent customer-run website. It is not affiliated with Octopus Energy Ltd. This page explains what information the site collects, how cookies and similar storage are used and how referral links work.

Analytics

We use analytics to understand which pages are useful, which guides lead people towards a clearer tariff decision and where the site needs better onward paths. The aim is to improve Switch to Octopus, not to sell personal data.

• Umami: lightweight site analytics used for broad traffic patterns, page views and referral-button clicks. It runs by default and is used for basic site statistics.
• Google Analytics: optional analytics used to understand journeys through the site. It only loads after you accept optional analytics cookies.

If you reject non-essential cookies, Google Analytics is not loaded by this site and Google does not receive Google Analytics visit information from this site. In that case we rely on Umami for broad visit statistics.

The site contains an Octopus Energy referral link. If you sign up through it, you and the site owner may both receive account credit under Octopus Energy’s referral scheme. We can see aggregate site-side clicks, but Octopus Energy controls the actual signup process and referral confirmation.
