Terms of use

Use this site as a research aid before checking your own Octopus quote, tariff page and account terms. Switch to Octopus is independent and is not part of Octopus Energy.

Independent guidance, not account advice

Switch to Octopus explains tariffs, switching steps, bills, smart meters and referral-code use in plain English. It is not financial, legal or regulated energy advice. Your postcode, meter setup, payment method, tariff eligibility and account history can change the right answer.

Before switching, check the live Octopus quote, tariff details, standing charges, exit fees where relevant and any smart-tariff terms that apply to your home.

Referral links and credit

This site may earn an affiliate or referral commission if you switch using our referral link. The referral link should not change the tariff, price or guidance you receive here.

The £50 credit depends on Octopus's current referral rules, T&Cs and eligible switch completion. Only one switching offer normally applies per household. If you are already an Octopus customer or you switch through another route, check Octopus's own guidance before assuming a referral credit applies.

Accuracy

The site is maintained regularly, but tariffs, eligibility rules, supplier offers and public guidance can change. Where a page discusses live rates or product terms, treat it as a guide to what to check rather than a permanent quote.

If you spot something that looks wrong or out of date, email [email protected].

If Octopus fits your home, our referral link can get you £50 credit once your switch is complete. Existing customer? Find out how you can benefit too. T&Cs apply (only one switching offer per household).
